OUR DREAM

SKATER BUILT PARK

Our vision is to create a skatepark for the city of Bad Axe that is functional, fun, and safe for all wheel sports. We’ve created various 3D designs to illustrate our plans to expand the Bad Axe Skatepark from 2023 and beyond.

2023 - Thanks to our efforts at Thumb Allied Skate, we worked with the City of Bad Axe to buy and transport ramps from Stockbridge, Michigan. We have received approval to move the ramps to the roller hockey rink South of the splash pad and raised $7500 to purchase 5 additional park features in 2024.

In 2023, we were able to give away over 50 skateboards, scooters, and BMX bikes to local kids post covid who had nothing to ride. We also held a back to school giveaway that gave 6 backpacks stuffed with school supplies. In addition, we worked with two Dollar General locations during the Christmas season to provide gifts to 16 kids in Huron County and provided over 250 hours of community service.

2024 - With the addition of our new ramps in our new space, we are focusing on paying off our ramp payment for the next two years and building skate programs from the ground up. This year we are proud to announce our sponsored skater is Josiah Munoz, who we believe embodies the spirit of skateboarding. We look forward to supporting him. We also offer Skate Church every other Thursday- which is when a majority of us gather to hang out. Thumb Allied has taken the responsibility of keeping the park maintained and safe for the public. We also had two television interviews this year- one live and one prerecorded courtesy of WNEM TV5. 2024 is also the first year we will hold our annual skate competition- Sept. 21st from 12pm-4pm!

Our dream is to create a concrete skatepark that has flow, supports novice and professional skaters, and contains iconic ramps inspired by the Warehouse Skatepark (2001-2004).

Our goal is $500,000 for concrete, construction supplies, and labor. That said- we are not pursuing grants or public funding for a skate park owned by the city. Thats their job.
